Drama Classes

Dance Classes
Ballet, Modern And Tap Dancing
Here at Bernese we offer tuition in classical ballet, tap and modern dance classes, training all pupils in the ISTD syllabus (Imperial Society Of Teachers Of Dancing). Training via this professional body ensures strong technique and knowledge whilst fully preparing and conditioning the body safely, which is extremely important. Technical syllabus training gives a core foundation for successful development. The ISTD is one of the few to be recognised and approved by the government of Ofqual. By having this assurance and mark of approval, parents and pupils can have the satisfaction that the ISTD work and its teachers are of the highest standard. All pupils who study ballet, modern and tap dancing classes are prepared for and encouraged to take exams in the syllabus and progress through the grades.
Jazz
Instead of following a syllabus, Jazz follows a more free choreographed approach and varies in styles: pop, technical, musical theatre, and lyrical. Jazz dance classes are fast-paced and improve speed and focus. Modern dance techniques greatly benefit anyone learning jazz, as this knowledge is carried through while learning choreography.
Hip-Hop
We are proud to be affiliated with many of the most reputable and recognised dancers in this scene. All of our hip-hop/street dance classes are taught by teachers with vast experience within this field and many connections and credits to their name. Hip-hop dancing classes are at both foundation, senior, and intermediate levels and cover many styles, including commercial, popping, locking, house, and more. There’s also a chance to become part of our competing crew teams.
Acro
Dance is forever evolving, and standards are rising constantly. To keep in line with the dance movement and ensure we equip our pupils to the fullest, we offer acro lessons to those who want to push their limits. Acro has fast become the norm within the dance industry as more and more dancers can use acrobatic skills as part of their dance routines. These skills enhance strength and versatility, making a dancer adaptable and impressive. Acro Dance is an art form that incorporates the fluid movements of dance with the exciting tricks of acrobatics. The training students receive in their acro dance classes helps to reinforce the technique in all other dance genres. Adding acro dance is next-level training that will develop a specific skill set and create well-rounded and versatile dancers. We recommend acro be taken in support of dance classes.

Introduce your child to the world of acro dance with our Kinder Acro program. In a fun and safe environment, toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years can roll, flip, and understand how their bodies move. Our parent-assisted classes foster strength and balance through basic acro positions like donkey kicks and bear walks. Join our Wednesday sessions from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at just £4.50 per class. Bond with your child as you both embark on this physical journey together, witnessing their confidence and skills grow. Time For Tots
Introducing Time For Tots: A lively and engaging class designed for parents and their little ones. Join us for a social experience like no other, where action-packed movements are taught through songs, music, and playful props like shakers, scarves, and bubbles. Watch as your child explores their sensory skills, expands their imagination, and develops musicality. Our interactive sessions foster confidence as children actively participate, expressing themselves with joy. After the fun, enjoy a snack for the little ones and a well-deserved coffee for adults, all included in the price.
